The Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) is a non-profit organization that serves, markets, and promotes the Ticonderoga area including, Ticonderoga, Crown Point, Hague, Moriah, and Putnam, NY. The TACC provides business support, resources, and services, business referrals, plans and hosts free community events, events that draw area visitors, assists area organizations with their events and projects, answers many community and visitor questions and requests via phone, email, and mail, sends visitor area information upon request, keeps an online calendar of events, as well as an array of benefits for its members. The Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce is on facebook (Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce), twitter (TiconderogaAdk), and Instagram (TiconderogaNY).

The TACC is also affiliated with the Lake Champlain Region Visitor Center via the Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism (ROOST). The TACC also has partnerships with the Town of Ticonderoga, Plattsburgh North Country Chamber of Commerce, the Ticonderoga Montcalm Street Partnership (TACC is the TMSP Coordinator), the North Country Small Business Development Center, eVision Digital Marketing – Ticonderoga360.com, Adirondack North Country Association – Center For Businesses In Transition, Adirondack Economic Development Corporation, and the Adirondack Trail Riders. In addition, the Chamber works closely with area organizations and economic development agencies including the Essex County Industrial Development Agency (ECIDA) and PRIDE of Ticonderoga.

Membership to the TACC is open to all businesses, organizations, employers, and self employed people in the area as well as those from outside the area who do business here or are looking to promote their business or organization within the area. The annual membership fee is based upon the type of business or organization and the number of employees. TACC also offers an Individual Membership (no benefits) for those community members who want to support our Mission & Vision. TACC Mission: To initiate and provide programs, services, and leadership which will enhance a cooperative business community and create a vibrant economy, making the Ticonderoga Area an exceptional place to live, work, and visit.

TACC Vision: The TACC will be the leading advocate for business, serving as a driving force in the economic vitality of the greater Ticonderoga Area, uniting communities and maximizing resources.

The Chamber Board of Directors in coordination with the Executive Director is in the process of creating a strategic plan for the Chamber which will include specific goals/action items with a timeline. Yearly goals and objectives for the Chamber are created and implemented yearly. The TACC has the following Key Areas of Focus: Membership Services, Growth, & Retention, Business Support, Services, & Resources, Marketing, Tourism, & Visitor Services, Communication, Business & Community Relations, Leadership, Advocacy, & Partnerships, as well as Finance, Administration, & Board of Directors.

TACC Membership Investment:

It’s important for your business or organization to be recognized as a Chamber Member. Your investment makes all we do possible. The majority of our funding is through the support of TACC members and Partners. It does matter, people do take note and ask for businesses or organizations that are involved in and support their community! While many businesses and organization support the community in many ways being a Chamber Member takes that level of support one step further. The annual membership fee is based upon the type of business or organization and the number of employees.

No single advertising effort can compare to having a year’s worth of support and promotion from the Chamber on a daily basis.Your business or organization will be listed on the Chambers website as well as the appropriate Essex County Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism/Lake Champlain Region website that promotes all businesses in Essex County as well as the popular Ticonderoga360 website. As a member you will have a listing in our online and printed directory, receive referrals and much more. In addition all TACC members become associate members of the North Country Chamber of Commerce in Plattsburgh, NY.

Marketing, Promotion, Publicity, & Exposure

Website ListingsMembers receive listings on the Chamber website (www.ticonderogany.com) as well as the eVision Digital Marketing website (www.ticonderoga360.com). The TACC Staff also ensures you have an updated listing on the Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism website (www.lakechamplainregion.com) if your business is within Essex County.

 

Chamber DirectoryAs a Chamber member your business or organization will be listed in both the printed and online directory.  The printed directory is distributed throughout the area and region as well as outside the area. The printed directory is given to all lodging properties for use in their rooms and is also available online.

 

Member and Area Information The TACC maintains a brochure rack at our office. As a member you are entitled to an assigned space on the rack for your promotion materials. The Chamber also maintains the information booth located at the Liberty Monument where area information/publications are displayed.

 

Weekly Highlight & Member Monday – The TACC highlights two members for each memo. These Members are highlighted within the memo and on the TACC facebook page. In addition, typically on the last Monday of each month the TACC visits 3-4 members to highlight for #MemberMonday. This allows the Chamber to check in, thank members, highlight benefits, and promote those particular members. Photos and details about that member are posted on the TACC Instagram page and facebook.

 

Press Releases/Member News – Please share your press releases, event information, and business news with the Chamber so we can share with others. Information for the Monthly Member News is due the first Monday of each month (send information digitally to Chamber staff). The Member News will go out the first Friday of each month. See Weekly Memo for reminders and additional information. In addition, the Chamber can assist Members in formatting and writing press releases for your business or organization.

 

Calendar of Events – As a Chamber member you will be able to list events, meetings, or general dates to remember on the Ticonderoga Area Online Calendar of Events as well as the Lake Champlain Region Calendar via the Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism. Calendar listings should be emailed to chamberinfo@ticonderogany.com or can be submitted directly online.

 

Sponsorship/Marketing Opportunities – Being a Chamber member will also give you sponsorship and marketing opportunities throughout the year including Chamber events and publications. These opportunities are a great way to promote your business or organization within the area as well as outside the region. Marketing opportunities via ROOST/Lake Champlain Region are also shared directly with TACC Members.

 

eVision Digital Marketing – Through our partnership with eVision Digital Marketing/Ticonderoga360.com TACC Members have an array of new benefits including: website listing, social media promotion, TACC Business Spotlight article/blog, and Member only discounts. Social Media Promotion – The TACC will share posts from your social media accounts to our social media accounts. If we see them, we will share. Please contact us if you want us to share something in particular as we can’t monitor everyone’s social media accounts.

 

Representation – Being a Chamber member you will be represented by TACC staff throughout the area and region. Including the Lake Champlain Region Marketing meetings, Area Economic and Revitalization meetings, other Chamber of Commerce events, meetings, and functions, as well through other organizations and events the Chamber is involved with.

 

Networking

The Chamber hosts networking opportunities including monthly After Business Mixers, events, and seminars to give members a chance to meet new people, get to know one another and area businesses/organizations better, as well as making business contacts.

Being a Chamber member says you belong to the local community and are dedicated to its success.

 

Community Involvement

Supporting you local Chamber of Commerce does support your local community. The Chamber serves the local community, hosts complimentary community events, and assists other local organizations in a variety of ways. We also assist in marketing and promoting area events and news.

 

Member Referrals

Professional and courteous staff that promotes the area and its members by providing answers and a variety of information to visitors and community members. Referrals are given to Chamber Members first when inquiring about the area. The TACC office responds to many area inquires both on the phone and via email. TACC is also a partner with the Lake Champlain Region Visitor Center through R.O.O.S.T. and does provide regional information and referrals.

Economic Development & TACC Partners

The Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce works with local economic development groups and organizations, The Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism/Lake Champlain Region, Town Officials, the North Country Chamber of Commerce, as well as other Chambers and organizations to be one voice for the area, provide marketing and promotional opportunities, increase visitors to the area, as well as ensure Ticonderoga Area economic growth and success.

 

Commerce Card Discount Program/North Country Chamber of Commerce

Through the Plattsburgh North Country Chamber of Commerce TACC Chamber members are given Commerce Discount Cards to access many discounts throughout the North Country Region. Members are also able to register their business and offer a discount through this program.

Business Support, Services & Resources

TACC offers business support directly to its members and new/existing businesses as well as through a variety of organizations including the North Country Small Business Development Center, S.C.O.R.E., & the Adirondack Economic Development Corporation. Business Transition services are also available at TACC via our partnership with the Center For Businesses In Transition/Adirondack North Country Association. These partnerships will give members access to expertise from regional business professionals versed in every aspect of business, from start up to expansion. Services are available directly at the Chamber Office. Fax (free) & Copy services (discounted rates) available.

 

Business Seminars & Trainings

Seminars and informational meetings are available for members to assist in making your business or organization a success and create a better community as well as a chance to network. In addition, seminars offered by the Plattsburgh North Country Chamber of Commerce are also available to TACC Members.

 

Health Insurance/North Country Chamber of Commerce

Members are eligible for Health Insurance for yourself and your employees. There are many options to choose from. This is available through our partnership with the Plattsburgh North Country Chamber of Commerce.

 

Energy Savings/North Country Chamber of Commerce

NYSEG and National Grid customers can receive a discount through the Chambers Energy Alliance Program. Please contact the Chamber office for additional information or to participate. See attached. This is available through our partnership with North Country Chamber of Commerce.

 

Ticonderoga Area Farmers Market

TACC Members have access to be a vendor at the market at no charge. You must pre-register with the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce or the Ticonderoga Area Farmers Market Manager.

 

The Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce has the right to review and revoke membership of any TACC Member if so voted upon by (2/3) Vote by the Board of Directors. No refunds for Membership Investments.
