The Ticonderoga Area and Lake Champlain Region truly are Small Towns with Big Opportunities, including BIG FISHING!
The Ticonderoga Area and Lake Champlain Region host an array of fishing tournaments each year on Lake Champlain and Lake George. Fishing tournaments typically take place each weekend, May through October. The Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce serves as the Ticonderoga Area & Lake Champlain Region Fishing Tournament Coordinator. Without the support from the Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism and the Town of Ticonderoga, many of these tournaments would not be possible. TACC also communicates and coordinates with the NYS.
NYS DEC issues all required permits to all of the tournaments for use of each boat launch. The yearly schedule of fishing tournaments is also issued to TACC from NYS DEC. A BIG thank you to ROOST, Town of Ticonderoga, and NYS DEC for your continued coordination and support. TACC works closely with the tournament leaders and assist tournament participants by providing area information and visitor services. The TACC and LCR websites are utilized for area information, an area business directory, calendar of events, and general visitor assistance.
