Area Businesses, Organizations, and Volunteers Recognized

The Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) held their annual Community Appreciation Dinner and Awards Ceremony on Thursday, October 17th, 2024 at the Knights of Columbus in Ticonderoga, NY. The Community Appreciation Dinner and Awards Ceremony gave the Chamber a chance to honor and thank those who gave themselves for the betterment of the Ticonderoga Area. The Chamber announced the 2024 Business of the Year, Chamber Volunteers of the Year, Organization of the Year, Community Volunteers of the Year, and gave out several TACC Appreciation Awards and some Special Recognitions.

All award recipients were nominated and voted-upon by Chamber Members, the community, staff, and the Chamber Board of Directors. The results were then tabulated by the Chamber Staff and reviewed by TACC Executive Board. TACC encourages anyone from the Ticonderoga Area to fill out award nomination ballots in the future. Award recipients, in addition to the Chamber awards received citations from the New York State Senate and Assembly.

2024 Business of the Year: DeFranco Landscaping, Inc.

*Award was accepted by Tony DeFranco and his parents.    

2024 Organization of the Year: North Country Community College

*Award was accepted by Selena LeMay-Klippel and Portia Burke.

2024 Chamber Volunteers of the Year: Rikki Galusha and Shylah Granger

2024 Community Volunteer of the Year: Nathan Belanger

2024 TACC Appreciation Award Recipients: The Lemonade Stand Kids (Andersen & Lawrence Families), Jessica Andreassen Harris, Denise Huestis, Fox and Fern Adirondack Mercantile, Huddy & Co./Small Town Boutique, Pam Lemza-Putnam, Silver Bay YMCA, Snug Harbour Marina, Sun Community News, Joe and Alicia Vilardo, and Dan Whitford.

2024 Special Recognition Awards: Deckers Flats Greenhouse, Joe Bodette, Karen Hennessy, Mariann Rapple, George Mackey, and Tim Stocker.

Assisting TACC President & CEO Matthew Courtright, as masters of ceremonies, were Allison Kaupelis (TACC Board Chair) and Angela Brown (TACC Board Member). In addition, Senator Dan Stec, Assemblyman Matt Simpson, and Town of Ticonderoga Supervisor Mark Wright assisted with the awards ceremony.

Senator Dan Stec and Assemblyman Matt Simpson also spoke, welcomed those in attendance, and thanked them for their commitment to the Ticonderoga Area and the Chamber. Both shared sentiments that the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce is truly dedicated to the business community and the region, as well as on how the Chamber represents the area well, works with their offices on business-related issues, and operates as if they have a much larger staff providing invaluable programs, services, and support.
