08 Apr Rooted in Community: A Business Transition & 1 Year Anniversary Ribbon Cutting Celebration
The Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) is pleased to announce a Business Transition & 1 Year Anniversary Ribbon Cutting Celebration for Local Roots, taking place on Thursday, April 30th, 2026 at 4:00 PM. Local Roots is located at 1716 White Church Road in Crown Point, NY.
This special event, titled Rooted in Community: A Business Transition & 1 Year Anniversary Celebration, will recognize both the successful transition of ownership and the continued growth of Local Roots, following its first full season of operation under new ownership.
Local Roots is a valued addition to the Crown Point community, and this celebration highlights not only the business itself, but also the importance of supporting and sustaining local businesses throughout ownership transitions. The business is previously known as Deckers Flats Greenhouse. This transition was made possible in part through the support of Adirondack North Country Center for Businesses in Transition (CBIT), a regional initiative dedicated to connecting business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs while preserving the vitality of our communities. TACC serves as a local liaison throughout the process, helping connect resources and facilitate communication.
CBIT provides matchmaking services, access to planning tools, and connections to professional resources to assist with business sales, ownership transfers, and succession planning. Through partnerships and collaboration, CBIT plays a vital role in ensuring that local businesses remain active and thriving for years to come.
“I am incredibly thankful for the support and guidance of TACC, SBDC, and AEDC throughout this transition process,” shared Betsy Johnson, Owner of Local Roots. “It has meant so much to have access to these resources and to feel supported every step of the way. I’m looking forward to building on a strong foundation and welcoming everyone back for another great season.”
The Ribbon Cutting Celebration will include brief remarks, an official ribbon cutting, and the opportunity to meet the owner, learn more about Local Roots, and connect with fellow community members.
TACC invites Chamber Members, area businesses, residents, and visitors to join in celebrating this exciting milestone and to show support for Local Roots and its continued success.
