20 Aug Galileo Shuttle Bay Ribbon Cutting at Star Trek Original Series Set Tour
Star Trek Original Series Set Tour in coordination with The Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon cutting celebration on Friday, September 18th at 5:30 PM at the Star Trek Original Series Set Tour, 112 Montcalm Street, Downtown Ticonderoga, celebrating the arrival and new home of the Galileo shuttlecraft.
The ribbon cutting celebration will take place as part of Trekonderoga Weekend, during “Trekonderoga Presents the Galileo,” a special celebration marking the unveiling of the restored Galileo shuttlecraft and its new home at the Star Trek Original Series Set Tour.
The Galileo is the iconic shuttlecraft featured in Star Trek: The Original Series. After years of restoration, the historic shuttlecraft has found a permanent home in Ticonderoga, where it will be displayed in a newly constructed shuttle bay at the Set Tour.
“We are incredibly excited to welcome the Galileo to its new home in Ticonderoga,” said James Cawley, Owner and Operator of the Star Trek Original Series Set Tour. “This has been a tremendous project, and we’re looking forward to sharing this incredible piece of Star Trek history with fans from around the world.”
The community is invited to join the the Star Trek Original Series Set Tour and the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce for this special celebration. Food trucks will also be available during the event.
Trekonderoga Weekend takes place September 18th – 20th in Ticonderoga, offering Star Trek fans a weekend of special events, guests and experiences.
