Adirondack Foundation Grant Supports TACC Employment Services & Programs

The Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) was recently awarded an Adirondack Foundation Generous Acts Grant focused on economic vitality. This funding will allow the TACC to strengthen TACC internal capacity, expand their Employment Opportunities services and programs to better support the business community, and help fortify the economic vitality of the Ticonderoga Area.

The TACC Employment Opportunities program is part of the Chamber’s overall economic development initiative entitled, “Small Towns Big Opportunities”.

The TACC Small Towns Big Opportunities initiative, key areas of focus include:

  • Business Recruitment & Retention
  • Business Development Support, Services, Assistance, & Resources
  • Business Trainings & Leadership Development
  • Employment Opportunities Programs & Services
  • Regional Economic Development Coordination & Support
  • Expanded Coordination with Partners and Municipalities
  • Living, Growing, & Succeeding In The Ticonderoga Area

In addition, the TACC Small Towns Big Opportunities initiative has a Visitor and Tourism focused component. TACC has also applied to additional funding sources to maintain, expand, and launch new aspects of this economic development initiative.

The Chamber seeks to create a thriving Ticonderoga Area with long-term and sustainable economic growth. Adirondack Foundation will continue to be a key partner in our efforts by providing the necessary support to expand this program and continue to fuel the Ticonderoga Area’s growing economy. This vital funding will allow the Chamber to expand our efforts to further support the business community and address one of their greatest needs. TACC will focus on addressing one of the business community’s greatest needs through additional business outreach, enhancement of the Ticonderoga Employment Opportunities database, upgrades to technology, host multiple Employment Opportunities Days (one-on-one employee assistance and employer match making services), coordinate the Ticonderoga Area Spring Job & Career Fair, and assist with the Essex County Regional Job Fair. TACC will also expand outreach and direct services to additional area schools, CVTEC, and NCCC to provide direct services and employment assistance to students. An array of print and digital marketing materials will also be created to promote the Employment Opportunities program.
