Area Businesses, Organizations, and Volunteers Recognized

The Ticonderoga Area Community Appreciation Dinner and Awards Ceremony on Thursday, October 19th at the Knights of Columbus in Ticonderoga, NY. The Community Appreciation Dinner and Awards Ceremony gave the Chamber a chance to honor and thank those who give of themselves for the betterment of the Ticonderoga Area. The Chamber announced the 2023 Business of the Year, Chamber Volunteers of the Year, Organization of the Year, Community Volunteers of the Year, and gave out several TACC Appreciation and Special Recognition Awards.

All award recipients were nominated and voted-upon by Chamber Members, the community, staff, and the Chamber Board of Directors. The results were then tabulated and reviewed by the Chamber Staff and TACC Executive Board. TACC encourages anyone from the Ticonderoga Area to fill out award nomination ballots in the future. In addition to the Chamber awards, award recipients received citations from the New York State Senate and Assembly.

2023 Business of the Year: Hot Biscuit Diner/HB Catering

2023 Organization of the Year: Ticonderoga Fire Department

*Award was accepted by Chief Jason Parent.

2023 Chamber Volunteers of the Year: Cathy & Richland Allen

2023 Community Volunteers of the Year: Steve & Sylvia Boyce

2023 TACC Appreciation Award Recipients: National Grid, Champlain National Bank, Maria Bagneschi, Dylan Menke, Christine Frasier, Marge Hurlburt, Bob & Jan Whitaker, Linda Cunningham, DeFranco Landscaping & Construction, and the Essex County Industrial Development Agency.

2023 Special Recognition Awards: Starr Smith (TACC board term ended), The Country Florist & Gifts/Francine Burke (retired) and Rainbow Nursery School/Marge Cross (retired).

Assisting TACC President & CEO Matthew Courtright, as masters of ceremonies, were Allison Kaupelis (TACC Board Chair) and Karen Hennessy (TACC Treasurer). In addition, Senator Dan Stec and Town of Ticonderoga Supervisor Mark Wright assisted with the awards ceremony.

Without your support and dedication all our programs, services, initiatives, events, and economic development efforts would not be possible. In addition, so many other events and activities would not take place in our communities. This event is a little way to thank all of you for your continued support, dedication, and hard work all year long. We would also like to thank the Knights of Columbus and Knights Banquet Hall & Catering for hosting this year’s event, as well all as the sponsors and donors who made the evening possible,” shared Matthew Courtright, TACC President & CEO.

Senator Dan Stec also spoke, welcomed those in attendance, and thanked them for their commitment to the Ticonderoga Area. Senator Stec shared that the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce is truly dedicated to the region, Ticonderoga Area businesses and organizations, and are strong leaders within New York State. Stec commented on how the Chamber represents the area well, works with their offices on business-related issues, and operates as if they have a much larger staff providing invaluable programs, services, support.
