Chambers of Commerce and organizations across America are once again asking communities to come together to support local businesses in their communities. On Thursday, April 7, all Americans will be encouraged to participate in an initiative, The Great American Buy Local Day, to support local businesses, the communities they serve, and millions of people they employ. This is the third time the TACC is participating. This initiative that was launched by Target River Marketing River during the pandemic. The Ticonderoga Best 4thIn The North Committee, a sub-committee of the Ticonderoga Montcalm Street Partnership (TMSP), is now accepting nominations for Grand Marshal for the 2022 Best 4th In The North parade in Ticonderoga, as well as parade applications/registrations.  The theme for the 2022 Parade and Celebration is “Christmas In July.” Grand Marshal Nominations can be submitted on the Best 4th In The North facebook page via messenger or by emailing tmsp@timainstreet.org.  The deadline to submit nominations is Wednesday, April 27th, 2022 at 12 Noon. The Ticonderoga Revitalization Alliance, Ticonderoga Schools, with support from the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce, are partnering on a spring job fair to connect students with local employers for seasonal and full-time (post-graduation) employment. This year’s fair will be held at the Ticonderoga High School gymnasium on Thursday, April 28, from 9:30 - 1:30. This year, students will prepare for the job fair in advance by completing standardized job applications. Teachers and counselors will mentor the students to help them put their best foot forward. A ribbon cutting celebration was recently held to mark the completion of Monty Benedict’s Basketball Court Eagle Scout Project. The event was hosted by the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) in coordination with the local Boy Scouts, the Town of Ticonderoga and several local organizations. The ribbon cutting also served as an opportunity to thank Monty for his hard work, dedication, and commitment to the Ticonderoga community.
