Basketball Court Eagle Scout Project Completed – Ribbon Cutting Held

A ribbon cutting celebration was recently held to mark the completion of Monty Benedict’s Basketball Court Eagle Scout Project. The event was hosted by the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) in coordination with the local Boy Scouts, the Town of Ticonderoga and several local organizations.

The ribbon cutting also served as an opportunity to thank Monty for his hard work, dedication, and commitment to the Ticonderoga community. Local organizations thanked Monty for leading by example, investing in the community, and showing that everyone can make a positive impact.

This Eagle Scout project completely renovated and revitalized the basketball courts in Downtown Ticonderoga. The project was spearheaded by Monty Benedict, a local Scout. Monty’s goal was to raise enough funds to restore the community basketball courts in Ticonderoga, NY which he accomplished with the assistance of local scouts, Boy Scout leader Corinna Woods, Monty’s family, the Town of Ticonderoga, volunteers, community members and the generous support of Brian & Rachel Little, Ticonderoga Montcalm Street Partnership, Kiwanis Club of Ticonderoga and other organizations, as well as community members.
