Elks To Host April Networking Event: April 18th

The Ticonderoga Elks Lodge #1494 in Downtown Ticonderoga will host the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) April Networking Event and After Business Mixer on Thursday, April 18th from 5:30 – 7:00 PM. The Ticonderoga Elks Lodge is located at 5 Tower Avenue in Ticonderoga, NY. This event will also serve as the kick-off to the Ticonderoga Elks 100th Anniversary Celebration.

Sponsors providing door prizes that attendees can enter to win include Fox and Fern – Adirondack Mercantile, Hot Biscuit Diner, PRIDE of Ticonderoga, and Ti Automotive.

“You are invited to network and unwind at the TACC After Business Mixer being hosted by the Elks Lodge #1494. This event is your time to simply enjoy the fun of getting connected to the Elks organization. It is a great place to meet and mingle with the Elks, fellow Chamber Members, businesses, and organizations as well as learn about the upcoming 100th Anniversary of the Ticonderoga Elks. Join us as we “kick-off” our year of celebration. The Chamber’s “After Business Mixers” provide a networking forum for Chamber Members, area business people, and organizations. In addition, the networking events provide an opportunity to showcase the host as well as promote the door prize sponsors. Networking and connecting with other Chamber Members is a key component of Chamber membership and marketing your business or organization.

Chamber Members, area businesses, and organizations are encouraged to take advantage of this and all networking opportunities. The Ticonderoga Elks Lodge #1494 is a local non-profit organization. The Elks invest in their communities through programs and events. They focus on helping children grow up healthy and drug free by undertaking projects that address unmet needs as well as honoring the service and sacrifice of veterans through a number of ways. The Ticonderoga Elks is a very active group of volunteers dedicated to betterment of Ticonderoga and the surrounding communities.

3 Myths about After Business Mixers & Networking Events BUSTED!

Myth: I don’t have time to go to After Business Mixers.
Busted: You don’t have to be there from 5:30 – 7:00. Stop by for 15 or 20 minutes and make some great new contacts.

Myth: It’s awkward…I won’t know anybody there.
Busted: Ask for a Chamber Ambassador or Board Member when you arrive. These outgoing volunteers will introduce you to the crowd and then you will know lots of people. You can also connect with an Ambassador, Board Member, or TACC Staff Member ahead of time.

Myth: I don’t need to go – I’m on social media.
Busted: There is no substitute for face-to-face networking. People do business with people they know…so come to After Hours and get to know more people.
