Next Move NY Program Visits Ticonderoga Area

The Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) is pleased to share that a new program entitled Next Move NY, is aimed at connecting transitioning soldiers, veterans, and military spouses from the Fort Drum military community to local businesses in the North Country through a specialized job portal and services.

The Next Move NY program is a state funded initiative housed within the Development Authority of the North Country. The program connects transitioning soldiers, spouses, and veterans to meaningful career, mentorship, and internship opportunities that align with their skillsets, experiences, and education through its job portal. Next Move NY services are free to all New York employers and transitioning soldiers, spouses, and veterans. Any business interested in registering as an employer in the portal can reach out to the TACC for more information and guidance, as the chamber is working closely with the team at Next Move NY.

“Next Move NY is excited to be working alongside the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce to connect local businesses with transitioning soldiers, spouses, and veterans seeking employment opportunities in Ticonderoga Area,” said Sarah Wilder, Regional Business Liaison at Next Move NY, “We’re striving to create meaningful connections and careers with these military families, with a focus on making New York State their next, and final, move.”

The TACC is eager to begin connecting our local businesses and mentors within the Ticonderoga Area to the Next Move NY program as well as military retirees and spouses that are looking to relocate to the Ticonderoga Area. The Chamber will also serve as a resource center promoting the many benefits of the Ticonderoga Area.

“I am thrilled to be able to support and coordinate with such an important and unique program. The chamber is looking forward to expanding our relationship with next move NY and assisting soldiers, spouses and veterans.” said Megan Bambara, TACC Employee Opportunities & Outreach Coordinator.
