Enjoy the following recreational activities while exploring the Ticonderoga Area\

Visit the Ticonderoga Area in NY to experience all the Adirondacks has to offer!

Biking: The Ticonderoga Area, Lake Champlain Region, and Lake George Region offer great biking routes through scenic country roads, quaint towns and villages, many with breathtaking views of the area. Adirondack Coast Bikeways offers 14 bicycle loops within the Lake Champlain Region.

Birding: Birders do not want to miss the largest birding trail in North America along the Lake Champlain Basin on the Atlantic Flyway. This trail is a 300-mile highway-based trail which unifies and connects 88 birding sites along the Lake Champlain shoreline. The Crown Point Bird Conservation Area is part of the Crown Point State Historic Site.

Boating: The Ticonderoga Area offers boating, canoeing, and kayaking on Lake Champlain and Lake George as well as other area rivers, lakes, and ponds including the LaChute River. Boat launches are located in Ticonderoga, Crown Point, Hague, Moriah, and Putnam as well as other access points within the area and at State Campsites. Boating stickers are available at the Town offices and Tony’s Ticonderoga Sports.

Boat Rentals: Boat rentals are available to explore the lake

Snug Harbor (2 locations): 92 Black Point Rd, Ticonderoga (518­-585-2826) and 7968 Lake Shore Dr, Route 9N, Silver Bay (518­-543-8866).

Hague: Dockside Landing Marina, 9134 Lakeshore Drive, Hague (518­-543-8888).

Bowling: Bowling alleys are located in Ticonderoga and Moriah.

Camping: Camping is a great Adirondack experience!

Ticonderoga: Rogers Rock State Campsite (518­-585-6746), Putnam Pond State Campsite (518­-585-7280). Crown Point: Crown Point State Campground (518­-597-3603).

Reserving Island Campsites & Day Use Spaces on Lake George

Canoe & Kayak Rentals: Brookwood RV Park, Rt. 9N, south of Ticonderoga. (518­-585-4462)

Cross Country Skiing & Snowshoeing: Cross Country skiing and snowshoeing can be done at Rogers Rock State Campsite, Ticonderoga Bicentennial Park, and the Crown Point State Historic Site as well as on a variety of hiking trails throughout the area.

Fishing: Ticonderoga gives access to two of the most beautiful fresh water lakes and some of the best fishing in NYS. Various fishing tournaments and derbies are held on both Lake Champlain and Lake George. Fishing licenses are available at Town Offices and Wal-Mart in Ticonderoga.  Both lakes offer boat launching access points and on-land fishing locations. In addition the LaChute River in Ticonderoga is a wonderful location to fish.

Golfing: Ticonderoga Country Club: Ticonderoga Golf Course is a unique eighteen hole public golf course located in the historic Lord Howe Valley, on the north end of Lake George in the heart of the Adirondack Park, near the site where Roger’s Rangers fought the renowned Snowshoe Battle.Exciting news for the Ticonderoga Golf Course! It was just voted #1 by the Adirondack Life Magazine 2015 Reader’s Poll as the Best Golf Course in the Adirondacks! The Ticonderoga golf course is perfect for players of all skill levels. It is an open and fun public course to play. The course also presents a fun challenge with the meandering Trout Brook that comes into play on seven of the eighteen holes. During the round players enjoy scenic mountains that rise above the course on both sides.

Golfing: Five Nations Golf: is a comprehensive Golf Center on the north end of Lake George in the heart of the Adirondack Park. We have a full service Driving Range that has a tee box that can accommodate up to 12 people, an automated ball machine that disperses small and large buckets, a Snack Bar, and periodic Golf Clinics put on by our local PGA Professional. We can accommodate Special Events and also have our own Glowing Course along with a historically themed 18 hole mini golf course.

Hiking: Hike into the mountains or along waterside trails both offering spectacular views of the area including Lake Champlain, Lake George, the Adirondacks and Vermont. Hiking Trails can be accessed at designated points throughout the Ticonderoga Area. Maps and guides are available.

Ice Fishing: Great fishing can be found even in the winter on Lake Champlain, Lake George and other area bodies of water. For information access points see boating section.

Ice Skating: Ice Skating rinks are located in Ticonderoga and Moriah.

Platform Tennis: 2 court platform tennis facility with a warming hut and viewing deck. This combines the best elements of tennis, racquette ball and squash and is very easy to learn. For players of all ages. Any adult can sign up for a court, borrow paddles and play between 10 am and 5 pm by registering in advance at the Golf Pro Shop at the Ticonderoga Country Club. After 5 pm, guests can sign up for a court and borrow equipment from Eddie’s Restaurant. All juniors must be accompanied by at least 1 adult.

Relaxing: Do nothing, relax and enjoy the scenic beauty and calming effect of the area. That’s why they invented the Adirondack Chair.

Sightseeing: The Ticonderoga Area offers an area of sightseeing throughout the Adirondacks, Lake Champlain and Lake George Region with beautiful views, drives and stops along the way.

Snowmobiling Trails: The Adirondack Region gives access to trail systems. Snowmobiling is a favorite Adirondack winter activity.

Swimming: The Ticonderoga Area offers access to swimming in Lake George, Lake Champlain and other area waters. Public beaches are located in Ticonderoga, Hague, Moriah and Putnam. See beach locations under each community listing.

Tour Boats: Lake George Steamboat Company in Lake George, NY offers a variety of cruises; sightseeing, lunch brunch and dinner cruises on 3 large cruise ship. Other boat tours are available within the Ticonderoga Area.

Walking/Running: Enjoy walking or running through the communities within the Ticonderoga Area. The LaChute River trail in Ticonderoga is a perfect location for a causal walk or for exercising. The LaChute River Trail runs through the Ticonderoga Bicentennial Park. LaChute River Trail Map

Water Sports: Tubing, water skiing, parasailing, and other water sports are available in the Ticonderoga Area.
