06 Nov Small Business Saturday – November 24th – Show Love For Your Community – Think Local!
“First there was Black Friday. Then Cyber Monday. Now there is Small Business Saturday.” Support Ticonderoga Area businesses on Saturday, November 24, 2018 for the 9th Annual Small Business Saturday. The Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce is participating in the nationwide initiative as the Neighborhood Champion via American Express in hopes to lend support and resources to area businesses as well as ensure the event has a significant economic impact for their members and the area. Small Business Saturday falls on Thanksgiving weekend; between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, when most holiday shopping begins.
Small Business Saturday is the day we all shop small. Small Business Saturday is a day dedicated to supporting small businesses across the country. Created by American Express in 2010, this day is celebrated each and every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. This year, Small Business Saturday is on November 24th. It’s the local community organizers, the small business owners, and the customers who make Small Business Saturday the busiest shopping day of the year for small businesses. Start getting involved now. Small businesses are the heartbeat of our communities. They’re the corner stores that create jobs. The retail shops and restaurants that help build our economy. And the mom and pop shops whose very presence makes a neighborhood, your neighborhood. The Shop Small Movement inspires people to shop with and support these small businesses, as well as give back to the places that have given their communities so much.
“The Chamber and area Businesses have participated in this event over the last several years which have been very successful in benefiting the local economy. We are hoping to make this year bigger and better. Each of you has the power to make that happen, support your community, and create positive change. Your commitment to the community will shape our future. This day is also used as an occasion to recognize the importance of small businesses and their vital contributions to the economy, job creation, and local communities. Small Business Saturday is the perfect opportunity for community members to support Ticonderoga area businesses as well as giving small businesses an opportunity to take part in a nationwide effort. This movement while focused on only small businesses does correlates with the Chambers “Think Local” campaign with the tagline “Think Local! Shop! Spend! Support! Your Community – Your Future” This campaign encourages community members to spend their money locally in the Ticonderoga Area,” stated Matthew Courtright – Executive Director of the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce.
