08 May Small Towns, Big Opportunities: Ticonderoga Area North Country Entrepreneurship Meetups
The Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC), in partnership with Clarkson University’s Shipley Center For Innovation and regional partner agencies, are excited to announce the launch of the Ticonderoga Area North Country Entrepreneurship Meetups as part of TACC’s Small Towns, Big Opportunities initiative.
This new program will bring together entrepreneurs, small business owners, aspiring entrepreneurs, innovators, and business support organizations from across the Ticonderoga Area and greater North Country region for a series of casual, collaborative, and engaging networking meetups designed to strengthen entrepreneurial connections and support business growth in rural communities.
The program will serve the communities of Ticonderoga, Crown Point, Hague, Moriah, and Putnam, NY.
The meetup series will feature four in-person events focused on connection, conversation, collaboration, and community support. Each meetup will provide attendees with the opportunity to network, share experiences, discuss challenges, exchange ideas, and learn from fellow entrepreneurs and regional business leaders in a welcoming environment.
“We are incredibly excited to partner with Clarkson University’s Shipley Center For Innovation to bring this program to the Ticonderoga Area,” shared Matthew Courtright. “Small businesses and entrepreneurs are the backbone of our communities and local economy. These meetups are about creating meaningful connections, encouraging collaboration, and reminding entrepreneurs that they are not alone in the challenges they face. We believe there are big opportunities in small towns, and this program will help continue building a strong and supportive entrepreneurial ecosystem throughout our region.”
Each meetup will include a Fireside Chat featuring a local entrepreneur or a partner agency. The chat will provide practical insights, lessons learned, and advice for others navigating entrepreneurship in the North Country. Additional program elements may include a Community Hot Seat discussion, open networking opportunities, resource sharing, partnership resource highlights, refreshments, door prizes, and more.
The meetups will also provide attendees with valuable access to regional business support organizations, economic development resources, funding opportunities, and long-term partnership connections.
“There is tremendous value in bringing people together face-to-face to share ideas, challenges, resources, and encouragement,” added Courtright. “Entrepreneurship can sometimes feel isolating, especially in rural communities. We want these meetups to become a space where people leave feeling inspired, supported, connected, and energized.”
