The Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce offers business support directly to its members, existing businesses and potential new businesses as well as through a variety of partner organizations including the Small Business Development Center (SBDC), Essex County Industrial Development Agency (ECIDA), Adirondack Economic Development Corporation, Center For Businesses In Transition & S.C.O.R.E./North Country Chamber of Commerce. These partnerships will give members, existing businesses, and potential new businesses access to expertise from regional business professionals versed in every aspect of business, from start up to expansion. The Chamber also works closely locally with PRIDE of Ticonderoga and the Ticonderoga Montcalm Street Partnership.

The Small Business Development Center is part of a statewide network of 24 regional centers located throughout New York State. The New York State SBDC (NYS/SBDC) is accredited by the Association of Small Business Development Centers (ASBDC) and has more than two decades of serving the small business community. TACC partners with the SBCC to bring their services and an array of trainings to the Ticonderoga Area.

The SBDC is supported by the State University of New York and the U.S. Small Business Administration to provide high quality business counseling and training to New Yorkers who want to start a business or improve the performance of an existing business. Due to this support, their services are free of charge. The SBDC business advisors provide support to North Country entrepreneurs by providing information, counseling, technical assistance and training to help them meet the challenge of today’s complex economy.

The Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce hosts a monthly services in coordination with the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) where services available via the SBDC are directly available at the Chamber Office. The ECIDA mission is to create a viable business atmosphere that will attract compatible and diverse sustainable economic development opportunities while focusing on major assets, retention / expansion projects, quality of life and job creation.
The IDA can provide financing through loan and bond programs, economic incentives, assistance with local regulatory agencies, and building/site location assistance. The Essex County IDA has a variety of financing opportunities available. The ECIDA is also able to partner with New York State and other Regional development organizations. The Adirondack Economic Development Corporation Inc. (AEDC) is a not-for-profit economic development corporation. AEDC was formed in 1976 as a cooperative effort of community leaders from towns in the northern Adirondacks to reduce traditionally higher than average levels of unemployment and to expand employment opportunities for the residents of the region. Mission: To foster the growth of North Country communities through support for existing and new small businesses. Vision: We envision vibrant communities within the North Country, driven by small businesses. AEDC will provide the resources they need to create new jobs, personal wealth and strong local economies.

TACC serves as the Community Liaison for the Center For Businesses In Transition via the Adirondack North Country Association. The Adirondack North Country Center for Businesses in Transition addresses the loss of area businesses by providing matchmaking services with potential buyers, access to planning tools and connection with existing services. The Center is a dynamic partnership between regional organizations and individuals invested in the retention of local businesses and the future of our communities. The goal is to help owners sell their businesses on the open market, complete intergenerational family transitions or convert to an employee-owned or cooperative model.
