TACC Success & Growth Continues  – Team Expanded To Focus On The Future

Annual Board Meeting Held – Highlight & Review of 2023

2023 proved to be a positive and productive year for the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) serving as the Ticonderoga Area Business and Visitor Center with a steadfast focus on the economic vitality of the business community and the Ticonderoga Area. The TACC is delighted to share a brief highlight of accomplishments, growth, and successes that were reviewed at their recent Annual Board Meeting, as well as exciting additions to Team TACC.

The TACC Annual Report is a brief highlight and review of 2023 which also includes specific data and statistics collected through numerous systems and reports. The Chamber’s Annual Report is categorized by the following Key Areas of Focus:

  • MEMBERSHIP: Membership Services, Growth, & Retention
  • BUSINESS: Business Services, Support, Assistance, & Development
  • TOURISM: Marketing, Events, & Visitor Services
  • COMMUNICATION: Public, Business, & Community Relations
  • LEADERSHIP: Partnerships, Economic Development, & Advocacy
  • ORGANIZATION: Finance, Staff, Board of Directors, & Ambassadors

Also included in the report is an additional information page with highlights a variety of facts and figures from business inquiries, the Chamber’s Employment Opportunities program, and interesting details about the TACC.

The Chamber’s continued success would not be possible without the collaboration and support of several Partner Agencies. TACC partners with numerous organizations including the Town of Ticonderoga, Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism/Lake Champlain Region Visitor Center, North Country Chamber of Commerce, Ticonderoga Montcalm Street Partnership, Town of Hague, Adirondack North Country Association/Center For Businesses In Transition, and the Adirondack Trail Riders. In 2023, TACC and the Town of Crown Point formalized a partnership. In addition, the Chamber and the Town of Moriah finalized a partnership agreement that went into effect in January 2024. TACC also coordinates and works regularly with many economic development and business support agencies including the Essex County Industrial Development Agency, PRIDE of Ticonderoga, the Adirondack Economic Development Corporation, Small Business Development Center, and the Lake Champlain Lake George Regional Planning Board.

The Chamber Team also communicates regularly with local, regional, and state representatives advocating for the needs of the business community and the Ticonderoga Area as a whole.

While 2023 certainly had its challenges, Team TACC worked diligently to ensure the Chamber and the Ticonderoga Area are perpetually growing and strengthening. We are excited about the future, the renewed positive forward movement, the ongoing growth of the business community, and TACC’s continual expansion. Continued great things are ahead,” shared Matthew Courtright – TACC President & CEO.

The TACC also focuses on creating a strong staff and volunteer team to bring fresh ideas, positive energy, and expanded support to the organization, as well as ensures all types of businesses, organizations, and the Ticonderoga Area are properly represented.

At the recent Annual Board Meeting held in January, the Chamber approved new Board Members for 2024 including, Angela Brown from Century 21 Adirondacks, Bob Porter from the Wind-Chill Factory & Mexican Grill, and Jennifer Pribble from TrailNorth Federal Credit Union.

In 2023, TACC welcomed Shylah Granger from Mountain Lake Services, Matthew Maneri from Sylvamo, and Walt Lender from Silver Bay YMCA/Montcalm Liquor to the Board of Directors. In addition, Allison Kaupelis from Pretty and Polished became the Board Chair and Renee Scuderi from Tromblee’s Greenhouse & Gifts moved onto the Executive Board.

TACC also saw expanded staff growth in 2023 with the welcomed addition of Chloe Rocque as the new Office & Executive Assistant. Chloe brought additional vigor, viewpoints, and strength to the Chamber as well as much needed staff support. Chloe’s hard work and dedication has already allowed the Chamber to better serve Members, the business community, and the Ticonderoga Area. Chloe’s commitment has also allowed each staff member to focus on specific initiatives and key aspects of the Chamber’s overall operations.

2023 also brought a new staff member to the Ticonderoga Area Farmers Market. Cathy Allen joined the team serving as the Onsite Market Manger. Cathy worked closely with the TACC and the Farmers Market Committee to ensure a successful season filled with farmers, vendors, live music, and kid’s activities.

The Chamber also has additional committee chairs and committee volunteers including June Curtis, Farmers Market Advisor. All TACC Board Members, Ambassadors, Committee Chairs, and Committee Members are volunteers who are dedicated to the mission and vision of the Chamber and the growth of the Ticonderoga Area.
