TACC Welcomes New Board Member & Staff

The Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) is pleased to welcome Kellie Bilow as the newest addition to the TACC Board of Director and Katy Rasmus as the Interim Administrative Assistant.

Kellie is part of the Nurse Management/Nursing Informatics Team at the University of Vermont Health Network – Elizabethtown Community Hospital. As a TACC Board Member Kellie will be part of forming the Chambers future as an organization and their role within the community. She previously volunteered for the Chamber as a TACC Ambassador and volunteers with other organizations within the community including Lakeside Regional Church.

“I foresee continued growth of the TACC as well as the region as a whole. I am very impressed by the dedication of the Chamber staff and look forward to contributing to the continued success of the organization and the grater Ticonderoga community. The Ticonderoga Area is truly a gem of the Adirondacks,” shared Kellie Bilow – TACC Board Member representing the University of Vermont Health Network – Elizabethtown Community Hospital.

Katy will be assisting the current staff with an array of projects, events, services, and partnerships from October 2017 through January 2018. Katy is a founding partner of Libby’s Bakery Café that opened in 2013 in Ticonderoga. Through her role at Libby’s Katy has volunteered for a number of organizations including the Ticonderoga Montcalm Street Partnership, Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce, Ticonderoga Festival Guild, Ticonderoga Arts Gallery, Ticonderoga Historical Society, and others. Katy has proven to be a true leader within the area.

As the Chamber continues to grow in capacity we will be able to offer new and expanded benefits to our Members as well as continue to serve the Ticonderoga Area in new ways. We are excited to have Kellie as our newest Board Member and that Katy has joined our staff for the next several months. Both will bring a set of skills that will continue to enhance the TACC Team,” shared Matthew Courtright – TACC President & CEO.

The Chamber has grown significantly over the last 8 years increasing in membership, services, and overall all leadership within the Ticonderoga Area.  In addition, the Chamber has expanded upon partnerships, created new partnerships, and is currently in the process of formalizing additional partnerships.

The Chamber has strived to strengthen and expand upon the benefits they offer to their Members and Partners as well as the services they provide to the entire Ticonderoga Area. The TACC serves, markets, and promotes the Ticonderoga Area including Ticonderoga, Crown Point, Hague, Moriah, and Putnam, NY.

“You can never tell what trajectory your life is going to take, I was managing at the age of 24, and starting a business at 26.  I have completed items on my life list I thought it would take a lifetime to complete and now I get to begin a new chapter.  I am so excited to be offered this opportunity, before going back to school, to better hone old skills as well as develop new ones.  The Chamber does so much to support the community and encourage the success of local businesses, and I am very proud that I get to participate in their mission,” commented Katy Rasmus – Interim Administrative Assistant.

Over the past eight years the Chamber has also focused more on their future to provide the needed services to their members and the entire Ticonderoga Area.
