The Ticonderoga Area invites residents and visitors alike to celebrate Independence Day with a full lineup of events, activities, entertainment, living history, fireworks, and family fun throughout the region from July 1st through July 5th, 2026.
As America commemorates its 250th Anniversary, the Ticonderoga Area is proud to offer a variety of ways to celebrate our nation’s independence while enjoying the rich history, communities, and attractions that make the region a premier summer destination.
Best 4th in the North
July 1st – 5th | Downtown Ticonderoga
The annual Best 4th in the North returns to Downtown Ticonderoga for five days of patriotic celebration, family fun, live entertainment, carnival rides, games, food, and fireworks.
The event will feature Amusements of America’s “America’s 250th Carnival” with midway rides, games, and food vendors throughout the celebration. Families can also enjoy face painting and temporary spray-on tattoos from The Art Bucket on select days.
Live entertainment each night from 6:00-9:00 PM includes Hodgepodge Band on July 1st, The 7th Octave on July 2nd, and Paper Wings along with The Montvales on July 3rd.
Independence Day festivities on July 4th begin with the Champlain Valley Chorale and the Annual Reading of the Declaration of Independence at the Ticonderoga Community Building. The day continues with the 40th Annual Montcalm Mile, the Best 4th in the North Parade celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary, and evening entertainment from 6:00 – 9:30 PM featuring Coconut Telegraph, a Jimmy Buffett Tribute Band, and Kisstory, a KISS Tribute Band. The celebration concludes with a spectacular fireworks display at dusk over Downtown Ticonderoga.
The Best 4th in the North is coordinated by the North Country Rural Development Coalition and North Country Roots.

1776: The Army Returns & The Council of War – A Revolutionary War 250th Anniversary Event
July 2nd – 3rd | Crown Point State Historic Site
July 2nd: Crown Point State Historic Site and Fort Ticonderoga Present: “Under Our Present Circumstances.”
Witness the American Army, riddled with smallpox, return to Crown Point from the invasion of Canada. Experience a reenactment of the Crown Point Council of War, when leaders of the Revolutionary forces decided their strategy to defend Lake Champlain in July of 1776. Meet Generals Philip Schuyler, Horatio Gates, James Sullivan, Benedict Arnold, and Baron Frederick de Woedtke. Watch history come alive as these generals discuss the situation of the Northern Department of the Continental Army. Hear their resolutions from their Council of War and discover the decisions that were made to rebuild the Army to defend American liberties from an invading British Army.
This free program has been made possible by the collaboration of Fort Ticonderoga and Crown Point State Historic Site. The event will take place at Marquee by Lake Champlain at Crown Point State Historic Site at 5:00PM.
July 3rd: Watch the American Army depart Crown Point at sunrise by boat as they row to Fort Ticonderoga. From 10:00AM to 3:00PM, join one of the staff from Crown Point State Historic Site to learn about the day in the life of a colonial soldier.

Ticonderoga American Legion Post #224 250th Anniversary Celebration
July 2nd – 3rd | Ticonderoga American Legion
Celebrate Independence Day weekend with a special 250th Anniversary Celebration featuring live music, great food, drinks, and community fun! The celebration kicks off Thursday, July 2nd with drink specials from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM followed by live music from Against the Grayne at 8:00 PM.
The festivities continue Friday, July 3rd with a delicious Steak & Clam Bake from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, followed by live music from Rustic Spirit at 7:00 PM. Both nights will feature raffle items, 50/50 drawings, and plenty of opportunities to celebrate with friends and family during this patriotic holiday weekend!
Live Music at Paper & Pencil Restaurant
July 2nd – 4th | Ticonderoga
Paper & Pencil Restaurant will host a weekend of live music during Independence Day celebrations.
Performances include Dukeaeroplane featuring Galen Peria on July 2nd at 7PM, David Karel Roberts on July 3rd at 7PM and the Kate Stano Duo at 3PM followed by Old Soul featuring George Vandusen at 6PM on July 4th. Additional performances may be announced.

Hague Independence Day Celebration
July 3rd | Hague Town Beach Park
Celebrate Independence Day lakeside in Hague with an evening of food, music, and fireworks.
Food trucks and vendors begin serving at 5:30 PM and will include Green Mountain Amusements Fried Dough, All Things Delicious, 80K Street Plates, Alaturco Gyro, BabADew’s Wood Fired Pizza, Hague Senior Club Ice Cream, and the Hague Fish & Game Club.
Live music by Bark Eater Band begins at 6:30 PM, followed by a fireworks display over Lake George at dusk.

REAL TIME REVOLUTION® Signature Reenactment Event: Return of an Army
July 3rd – 5th | Fort Ticonderoga
Fort Ticonderoga’s signature REAL TIME REVOLUTION® reenactment event returns as part of the ongoing commemoration of America’s 250th Anniversary.
During this immersive three-day experience, visitors will step back into July 1776 and witness the arrival of the Northern Continental Army following its retreat from Canada. Through military demonstrations, living history programs, cannon firings, bateau landings, fifes and drums performances, and special reenactments, guests will experience the challenges faced by the soldiers defending the new nation.
Featured programs throughout the weekend include the arrival of Continental troops by boat, the establishment of the Northern Continental Army’s General Hospital during a smallpox epidemic, a grand military review, the arrival of artillery by water, and dramatic cannon demonstrations from the walls of Fort Ticonderoga.
Programming is included with General Admission, and tickets are valid for two consecutive days.

Silver Bay Independence Day Fireworks
July 5th | Silver Bay YMCA
Continue the celebration with a spectacular fireworks display over Lake George at the Silver Bay YMCA Conference & Family Retreat Center. The annual fireworks show will begin at dusk and offers a beautiful lakeside setting to conclude the holiday weekend.
