The Ticonderoga Montcalm Street Partnership (TMSP), the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC), and the Town of Ticonderoga are pleased to announce the Ticonderoga Beautification & Clean Up Week will take place May 6th – 12th, 2019 with a theme of “Show Your Community Pride.” Area Businesses, Organizations, & Community Members are encouraged to join in by sprucing up their properties and buildings during Beautification Week!
Free Disposal At The Transfer Station: Tuesday, May 7th, Wednesday, May 8th,
& Thursday, May 9th from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
The Town of Ticonderoga will open it’s Transfer Station to Ticonderoga Residents Only (proof of residency required) on Tuesday, May 7th, Wednesday May 8th, & Thursday May 9th from 8 AM – 4 PM. These dates are for free disposal with the exception of the following items which are not being accepted: hazardous waste, or items containing hazardous waste, tires, food waste, brush, C&D, shingles and electronics. RESTRICTIONS MAY APPLY. See attendant for list of restricted items. Curbside pick-up for Senior’s 65 or older and qualified disabled only can contact Sal at the Ticonderoga Highway Department at (518) 585-7317 with a list of items to be picked up. Ticonderoga Middle School Community Give Back Day: Friday, May 10th from 9:00 AM to 12 Noon – Variety of Clean-Up Activities & Community Enhancement Projects!
Students from the Ticonderoga Middle School will be working on a number of clean-up activities and community enhancement projects as part of their Annual Community Give Back Day with support from the Town of Ticonderoga Highway Department, TACC, & TMSP. Students will also be assisting local Senior Citizens (65 & older) with general yard clean up. Senior Citizens interested in this assistance must sign up with the Ticonderoga Area Seniors at 518-585-6050 by Thursday, May 2nd.
Low Cost Electronics Recycling: Saturday, May 11th from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
As part of the community clean-up effort, an opportunity to recycle your old electronics equipment will be available in the back of the Old Rite Aid Parking lot near the LaChute Trail in Downtown Ticonderoga. Good Point Recycling from Middlebury VT will be available from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Items Accepted: TVs, microwaves, small kitchen appliances, small electronics, VCRs, stereo, DVD players, CD players, computers, computer accessories, air conditioners and phones. Cost will range from $2.00 – $20.00. Certain items may be free. Speak to Good Point Staff Member on May 12th for details and pricing. Good Point does not accept appliances such as washers, dryers, refrigerators, and stoves.
A variety of clean-up activities & enhancement projects will be happening throughout the week and month by the Town, organizations, businesses, community members. This will include work at INFO center locations, plantings, etc. The Ticonderoga Natural Foods Co-Op will also be doing Highway Clean Up on Chilson Hill on May 5th (rain date of May 12th). Additional projects will happen throughout the month of May.

The anticipated list of specific Clean-Up Day activities will include: sweeping, trash pick-up, refreshing of natural areas and the landscaping, painting, weed pulling, flower planting, LaChute Trail clean-up and maintenance, as well as a number of community projects and tasks. Organizers are also working with the Ticonderoga Highway Department to have Main Street hosed down and cleaned. The Country Florist & Gifts in coordination with the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce, TMSP and Kiwanis of Ticonderoga will be filling the wooden planter boxes on the bridge located next to The Country Florist as well as the flower boxes at the Chamber office and information booth shortly after beautification week depending on the weather. In addition, other flower pots and planters will be filled throughout town.
While Ticonderoga Beautification Week is May 6th – 12th, cleaning and sprucing up of the Ticonderoga Area is encouraged and will be happening throughout the month of May. Additional partners of Beautification Week include PRIDE of Ticonderoga, Ticonderoga Central School, Kiwanis Club of Ticonderoga, Town of Ticonderoga Highway Department, Ticonderoga Beatification Crew, and area organizations and businesses, as well as community volunteers.
