Ticonderoga Golf Course Clubhouse and Seymour’s Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting To Be Held September 30th

A Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Celebration for the new Ticonderoga Golf Course, Clubhouse, which includes Seymour’s Restaurant and Tap Room, will be held on Thursday, September 30th, 2021 at 4:00 PM in coordination with the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce. Refreshments will be served and live music will take place following the ribbon cutting.  Please note that all NYS COVID-19 guidelines will be followed.

Ticonderoga Golf Course and Seymour’s Restaurant & Tap Room is located at 609 State Route 9N in Ticonderoga, NY. The majority of the golf course has undergone renovations and upgrades. The magnificent new club house and restaurant is a phenomenal addition to the Ticonderoga Area, offering numerous experiences and opportunities for the community, visitors, and golfers.

Joining the Ticonderoga Golf Course, Seymour’s, Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce and the local businesses involved in making the entire project possible at the grand opening and ribbon cutting will be representatives from the Town of Ticonderoga and New York State.

Phinney Design Group was the lead architecture firm on the club house and restaurant. Several other local businesses were involved including Juniper Design, LLC, DeFranco Landscaping & Design, Reale Construction, and others. In addition, Ticonderoga Golf Course worked with the Ticonderoga Alliance, a local development corporation to accept donations for the project.

“It certainly takes a team to make projects like the Ticonderoga Golf Course renovations and rebuild possible. We are so thankful for the dedication of their board of directors, staff, donors, and the team at Seymour’s. Please join us on September 30th to support and celebrate with the Ticonderoga Area business community. And, of course, check out the amazing new Ticonderoga Golf Course, Clubhouse, Seymour’s Restaurant & Tap Room and the outstanding view of the Lord Howe Valley. We truly are Small Towns with Big Opportunities,” stated Matthew Courtright – TACC President & CEO.

Ticonderoga Golf Course opened its tee boxes in the Spring of 1926. Nearly a century later, the course has both expanded and evolved, not only staying true to its North Country roots, but also with a vision towards the next 100 years. Nestled between the mountains bordering Lake George and the foothills of the Adirondack Park, Ticonderoga Golf Course is known as a fun and open course, while, at the same time, serving up challenging holes to the seasoned golfer. Over the last several years, the course has undergone a major upgrade, altering the layout of existing holes, constructing brand new greens and tee boxes, and entirely reworking several holes to respond better to the sometimes-uncertain North Lake George winters and springs.

A short 89 years ago, the Ticonderoga Sentinel newspaper wrote that TGC “is rapidly gaining the distinction among not only golf enthusiasts of the game in Essex County, but also throughout the state, as a course which is replete with the qualities of a championship links.”

As it nears a century of golf at the Ticonderoga Golf Course, you can put your stamp on Ticonderoga Golf Course’s golfing history as it embarks on gaining additional distinction as a destination course and clubhouse. You can visit for a round of golf, enjoy the new clubhouse featuring Seymour’s Restaurant, the Tap Room and the brand-new pro-shop. Ticonderoga Golf Course can also host your next special event from birthday dinners to weddings. Ticonderoga Golf Course is open to the public.

“As a local Ti kid who grew up playing golf and celebrating special occasions at Ticonderoga Golf Course, you realize how important – how personal – this project is to the community. As a Board, we are so appreciative to the local community for their support of the new Clubhouse. Additionally, we are struck by how many people are drawn to enjoy this beautiful property – whether in the form of a round of golf, a top-notch meal, or a social gathering on our patio. Like those before us have done for nearly a century, this Board continues to focus on evolving, expanding and improving what Ticonderoga Golf Course has to offer, and we are pleased to pause during this ceremony, acknowledge each and every person who has made this day possible, and look toward the future,” noted Joseph Hiro, Member of the Ticonderoga Golf Course Board of Directors.

At Seymour’s Restaurant you can enjoy a refined dining experience with a focus on fresh ingredients and locally inspired cuisine from their talented culinary team. Choose to dine in their spacious dining room or on the three-season porch and take in the breath-taking views of the Lord Howe Valley, soaking in the Adirondack sunsets. You can also step off the course to dine in the Tap Room, which offers local craft brews, signature cocktails., and some must-try comfort food. Both indoor and covered outdoor seating is available. You can take a seat at the bar or find a table on the terrace overlooking the greens and gorgeous Adirondack views. Seymour’s Restaurant and Tap Room is operated by Spruce Hospitality Group.

“We are excited to report that we had a phenomenal opening summer season at Seymour’s and the Tap Room. We were blown away by the support we received from the community and visitors alike.  We are excited to keep this great momentum going through the winter months and into 2022, and especially look forward to growing our wedding and special event business. We look forward to seeing you on September 30th for our combined Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Celebration with Ticonderoga Golf,” shared Tyler Herrick, President of Spruce Hospitality Group
