Winter in the Town of Hague brings a season of community traditions, outdoor recreation, and family-friendly events taking place throughout February and March. Rather than a single weekend, Winter in Hague features a series of signature events hosted by local organizations that highlight the best of winter and early spring in the Adirondacks.
Silver Bay YMCA Winter Weekend | February 13 – 16, 2026
Silver Bay YMCA will host its annual Winter Weekend with a variety of seasonal activities and opportunities for guests to enjoy winter along Lake George’s northern basin. Programming is expected to include a mix of indoor and outdoor recreation and family-friendly fun throughout the weekend. Additional details and a full schedule will be announced by Silver Bay YMCA.

HVFD Fireman’s Breakfast | Saturday, February 14, 2026 | 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
The Hague Volunteer Fire Department will host its annual Fireman’s Breakfast, welcoming the community for a hearty morning meal in support of the department. Guests can enjoy a classic breakfast while gathering with neighbors during Winter in Hague. Cost is $12 per adult and $6 per child.
Polar Plunge & Chili Cook-Off | Sunday, February 15, 2026 | 2:00 PM
The annual Polar Plunge, sponsored by the Hague Volunteer Fire Department, will take place at the Trout House Village Resort Dock. Brave participants are invited to take the plunge in support of the Vermont Children’s Hospital in honor of Katy Wells.
At 4:00 PM, the popular Chili Cook-Off will be held at the Hague Volunteer Fire Department on West Hague Road, featuring chili sampling, food and refreshments, entertainment, and prizes. Proceeds benefit the Vermont Children’s Hospital. For event pricing, please contact the HVFD.

Hague Ice Fishing Derby Weekend | Saturday & Sunday, February 21 – 22, 2026
The Hague Ice Fishing Derby Weekend will be held Saturday, February 21st and Sunday, February 22nd, 2026, hosted by the Hague Fish & Game Club, Inc. and the Town of Hague. The derby will take place on all public waters in Essex County, Warren County, and Washington County. You can purchase tickets at Silver Bay General Store, The Crossroads, FISH 307, T & S Redemption, FMB Bait & Tackle Shop or Schroon Lake Bait & Tackle.
Entry is $40.00 for participants ages 16 and up for both days, with youth under 16 fishing free. Adult registrations feature a 75% payout, while junior prizes are generously donated by local merchants. Door prizes will be awarded hourly on Sunday from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with six prizes awarded. Categories include Lake Trout, Perch, Salmon, and Pike.

Hague Fish & Game Club WinterFest | Saturday, March 21, 2026 | 1:00 PM
WinterFest returns to the Hague Fish & Game Club with a day of winter celebration and community fun. The event will feature family-friendly activities, live music by Rich Ortiz, and an evening fireworks display. WinterFest remains a seasonal highlight, bringing residents and visitors together to celebrate winter in Hague. Event aspects are weather permitting.
Hop On In & Have Pancakes with the Easter Bunny | Saturday, March 29, 2026 | 9:00 – 11:00 AM
Families are invited to the Hague Fish & Game Club for “Hop On In & Have Pancakes with the Easter Bunny.” Children will enjoy meeting the Easter Bunny and receiving a special Easter treat bag while families enjoy a festive pancake breakfast to welcome the arrival of spring.
