Young Professionals Network Launches In Ticonderoga

The Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) recently held a launch event for the Ticonderoga Area Young Professionals Network to address the needs of area young professionals as well as connect them to each other and the community.

Over the last two years the Chamber has been speaking to young professionals, conducting informal surveys via employers, and listening to the community in regards to their concern of keeping young professionals in the Ticonderoga Area. The TACC Young Professionals Network launch event was held on Thursday, July 25th at the Ticonderoga Municipal Beach. The event included a variety of beach and summer games, soft drinks, and a barbecue.

A number of area young professionals representing an array of area businesses and organizations were in attendance including current Chamber Members and soon to be Chamber Members. The group enjoyed the beautiful views of Lake George while meeting one another and learning more about everyone in attendance, the Chamber, and the community. Positive and productive discussions were held about ideas for the new group, attracting other young professionals, the area, and much more. The next gathering of the network will be announced soon. Additional young professionals have also showed interest in participating.

The Young Professionals Network committee via the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce has established a vision, mission, and goals for the group.

Mission: This group is created to provide low stress networking events for young professionals in the Ticonderoga Area as well as providing recreation and volunteer opportunities to give back to the community in coordination with the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce.

Current Yearly Goals:

*Quarterly Mix and Mingle/Networking Gathering

*Two times host an outing either recreational or to an area attraction

*Two times coordinate a volunteer opportunity or participate in a larger event needing volunteers.

“The event was a great success. We were thrilled to welcome new young professionals to the area as well as reconnect with others. I loved learning more about each of those in attendance, listing to the amazing conversations happening, and how positive each individual was about their life, commitment to their business or organization, and the area as a whole. I would like to thank Lily Rasmus and Anthony Anselmo for coordinating this event and assisting the Chamber in launching this new positive thinking and future driven group,” shared TACC President & CEO – Matthew Courtright.

The Ticonderoga Area Young Professionals Networking is seeking additional committee members to plan for the future and guide ongoing activities as well as those who are just interested in attending the young professional gatherings.
